Doris Miller Park
Doris Miller Park is a tranquil neighborhood that's now designated for all rank bands (E1-O10) featuring discounted rent rates (less than BAH w/dependents) on select homes. These spacious 2, 3, and 4-bedroom homes are situated within walking distance to our Self Help Warehouse, the Halsey Terrace Mini-Mart, and the Child Care Center. Its central location also provides easy access to the NEX, JBPHH, and freeways that can get you anywhere you need to go on the island.
The Doris Miller Park is named after Doris “Dorie” Miller, a shipboard cook who rose to hero status during the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. He was the first African American to be awarded the Navy Cross.
